Techreo Launches SME Banking Module

Leading Financial Transformation in Latin America

With a solid career in corporate finance and a steadfast commitment to gender equality and the professional development of women, we highlight Silva's leadership as an inspiration and role model.

In this special edition, we spotlight Iliana de Silva, CEO and co-founder of Techreo, a prominent figure in the field of financial inclusion in Latin America. With over 18 years of experience in Corporate Finance, Silva has made a significant impact since the launch of Techreo in 2022, expanding rapidly in Mexico and Bolivia and reaching hundreds of thousands of users.

A graduate in Industrial Engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and with a master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Silva has held key positions at Te Creemos Holding, CAME, Sociedad Hipotecaria Federal, and BANSEFI before co-founding Techreo. Her mission is clear: to transform financial services to make them more accessible and representative of the region’s diversity.

“My purpose is to promote financial inclusion in Mexico and Latin America,” says Silva, highlighting her conviction to improve quality of life through equitable access to financial services. She emphasizes that this enables individuals to plan with precision, secure their future, and face economic challenges with greater confidence. Her dedication and passion inspire not only her team at Techreo but also other women in the financial industry, demonstrating that obstacles should never limit professional aspirations.

Described as 'passionate,' 'resilient,' and a 'mentor,' Iliana shares the qualities that define her as a leader. “Passion drives my commitment and enthusiasm to achieve our goals, while my resilience allows me to overcome obstacles with determination,” she explains. As a mentor, she enjoys guiding the personal and professional development of others, making a significant difference in shaping future leaders in the industry.

Addressing the challenges she faces as a female leader, Silva acknowledges the persistent gender bias in the business world. “Despite progress, some people still question women’s ability to lead,” she admits. This challenge, experienced by both men and women, strengthens her determination to demonstrate results and continually push forward. The ongoing pursuit of solutions and learning is fundamental to her strategy for overcoming these obstacles.

For younger generations of women, she offers clear advice: “Don’t settle and seize the opportunities you have.” Encouraging women not to limit themselves because of their gender but to stand out for their talent and skills, she emphasizes the importance of committing to personal and professional growth. Her message resonates with the idea that with dedication and determination, women can achieve success and make a significant difference in the global business landscape.

Silva embodies the vision and action needed to lead transformation in the financial industry, standing out not only for her business success but also for her commitment to equality and inclusion. Her inspiring story demonstrates that female leadership is not only possible but essential for the continued progress of our society.
